Landfill soil was scheduled to be shipped out of Shiokawa Pier in Motobu Town; however, the Pier was damaged by a typhoon and could not be used. Therefore, Abe Administration decided to use the pier of Ryukyu Cement Co.
However, the use of Ryukyu Cement Company’s pier was not indicated in the original landfill plan submitted to the Prefecture. Such change in the plan requires authorization by the governor. If proceeded without the Prefectural authorization, it is illegal.
Learning that the shipping out landfill soil starts on Dec. 3rd (Mon), many people gathered to protest early in the morning at 6 o’clock.
The following picture shows how it went on December 3rd.
